Valuables and Mobile Phones
We discourage our students from bringing unnecessary money, toys or items of value to school.
We discourage our students from bringing mobile phones to school. Recent international research has shown that mobile phones at school are a major distraction for students. Use of mobile phones are not allowed during school hours. If your child does bring a mobile phone to school, please have him/her surrender it at the school office and your child can sign it out from the school office after school.
Only our Year 5/6 students in our Maunga classrooms have the option of bringing a Chromebook to school but once again that is subjected to our rules and regulations on the use of devices in our classroom. The rest of the classrooms have sufficient iPads and Chromebooks to facilitate learning and the teachers of those Syndicates do not require your child to bring one to school.
If you need to contact your child, please ring our office and leave a message with our office staff who will ensure that the message is delivered. If your child needs to respond, they can do so during one of our 3 breaks.
For more information about the use of devices, please refer to Netsafe.
The school accepts no responsibility for the loss of valuables or mobile phones.
